Essay

The subject matter of the thesis is the specificity of the poetic picture of the world of R. M. Rilke as represented by textual realizations of associative links (consociations) of the poetic concept GOTT. Consociations are lexemes that do not necessarily belong to the same semantic field but share certain meanings and appear consistently as close or distant neighbours within one text. This definition of consociation corresponds to the threefold model of association. The associative layer of the poetic concept in the poetic picture of the world in the corpus of poetic works by R. M. Rilke is highlighted by the corpus linguistic approach. The role of consociated lexical units in the reflection of R. M. Rilke's poetic picture of the world has been analyzed and an innovative method of analysis of certain edges of poetic concepts has been suggested, arising from their regular co-occurrences. Comprehensive research has been conducted in the domain of the study of the poetic picture of the world in Eastern Europe. Most researchers unanimously agree that association is the main characteristic of the poetic picture of the world, as it incorporates the author's conceptual picture of the world and translates it into the text by the means of the language. These associations are most often intended to be decoded by the attentive/careful reader. Hence, one of the most important tasks in research of the poetic picture of the world should be scientific decoding of the author's specific associations. Unfortunately, most of the present day methods lack statistical justification.
