Essay

Thesis is devoted to solving important scientific and practical task of establishing the objective laws of a system “support - rock mass” deformation in soft rocks in the area of longwall influence, which are used for the prediction of the gateroads condition and their maintenance, that increases stability, allows for the gateroads re-use and intensification of mining works. Comprehensive mine surveying observations allowed for the establishment of: the gateroad roof rocks deformation laws; the nature of the support’s racks penetration into the floor; the functional connection between the longwall face advance rate and the values of convergence and convergence speed. As a result of analytical research the reliable mathematical description of the displacements of the gateroad’s surrounding rocks and the prediction of their values in the zone of longwall using asymmetric adapted logistic function are performed. The results of the in-situ observations and the analytical research allowed for the development of the gateroad convergence forecasting method that takes into account the longwall face advance rate. The objective laws of the gateroad’s roof rocks deformation are used for the substantiation of cable bolts installation parameters, that made it possible to maintain the gateroad without mounting of support props at the intersection "longwall face – gateroad" with the expected economic benefit of 73.2 mln UAH per one longwall.
