Essay

The Dissertation is devoted to the study of Chinese art song genre, development of its history and theory. Historical-artistic and philosophical-aesthetic background of the genre, its typological connection with Kunstlied as a genre and stylistic prototype of the Chinese art song have been studied; and the ways of its studying in the musicology of China have been classified. Periodization of development of the genre that arose as a result of the process of westernization of the artistic culture of China has been presented. "Break in Continuity" in the genre development, stipulated by the Cultural Revolution Era, when the evolution was interrupted, predetermined the occurrence of two cycles in its history (1920-1940; 1980-1990).
