Dissertation is devoted to the justification and development of theoretical and methodical positions and practical recommendations on improvement of the mechanism of management of revenues from freight traffic of railway transport as an important factor to improve their efficiency. Object is the management of revenues from freight rail transport. Theoretical and methodological basis of research based on the use of the totality of methods and approaches, economic and system analysis, historical and evolutionary analysis of theoretical generalizations ascent from the abstract to the concrete, economic and mathematical modeling, statistical analysis and synthesis, taxonomic analysis, linear programming, and others. The scientific significance of the results is to improve the aggregate theoretical, methodological and practical provisions of the management mechanism of income from freight rail transport. The practical significance of the results is that its main conclusions and recommendations can be used for improvement of revenue management and financial performance of railway undertakings as those that contribute to their efficiency in the transport market.
