This thesis outlines the theoretical and methodological support and organizational measures of state regulation for the commercialization of intellectual property in Ukraine. The study analyzes features of the commercialization of intellectual property (IP) as an economic category, discloses the role and place of the commercialization in an innovative development of the national economy and undertakes a research into organizational aspects of the formation of state regulation of the commercialization of IP property in leading countries. The study identifies modern trends, risks and their impact on commercialization of IP in Ukraine. The first chapter deals with theoretical principles of the state regulation of the commercialization of IP. The commercialization is studied as the main stage of the industrial property life cycle, economic relations among actors of the commercialization of IP, tools of government regulation of IP commercialization in the developed countries. The second chapter examines special aspects of the Ukrainian commercialization of IP in the context of worldwide trends. The thesis ascertains the baseline study and economic aspects of inventive activity of Ukraine, the economic nature of risk in the commercialization process of IP rights and main factors that influence the commercialization process of IP. The third chapter is devoted to development of a mechanism for government regulation of the commercialization of IP in Ukraine.
