3. Object: Process of formation and development of national credit cooperatives system in Ukraine. Purpose: Development of theoretical theses, methodological approaches and practical recommendations concerning formation of cooperative and credit sector of national economy. Methods: abstract, logical, induction and deduction, historical, graphical, methods of comparison, analogy, generalization, correlation, regression and trend analysis, forecasting. It is offered: for the first time: self-regulatory model for credit unions has been suggested. It is based on mutual management by the representatives of National Association of Credit Unions of Ukraine and Ukrainian Association of Credit Unions. Implementation of this model will consolidate the existing problems of credit unions system and introduce an indirect supervision of their activities, which is quite common in international practice, making it more efficient at minimal expenses; improved: conceptual approach to the creation of effective credit and cooperative sector of national economy, terminological apparatus concerning the research cooperative sector, approach to legislative regulation of cooperative ownership relations, criteria for delimitation classical cooperatives (those that adhere to internationally recognized social, economic and legal principles of cooperative activities) and artificial cooperatives; developed further: reasoning concerning the ways of reforming state policy regulating credit and cooperative sector of the economy, methodical approach to forecasting the development of credit unions.
