Matvyeyenko R. Clinical-mathematical substantiation of prosthetic measures in a complex treatment of periodontal diseases.

By the results of performed examination of 237 patients with generalized periodontitis it was established that 77.6 ± 2.7 % of them have dentition defects, which are accompanied by functional overloading of the preserved teeth. Analysis of Doppler ultrasound and ultrasonic osteometry data, level of markers of bone resorption in the blood serum testifies to activation of dystrophic-destructive process in bone tissue of alveolar process in regard to functional overloading of the preserved teeth. Usage of mouthguard-denture allows decreasing stress-strain states in patients with generalized periodontitis complicated by dentition defects. By the results of performed clinical approbation in 60 patients with generalized periodontitis of chronic course with bilateral end defects of dentitions, it was proved that usage of mouthguard-denture over the period of complex treatment is able to improve hemomicrocirculation of periodontal tissues, enlarge chewing efficiency, optimize adaptation process, slow down processes of bone resorption and improve treatment results in short-term and follow-up.
