Prevalence and peculiarities of clinical progression of rampant caries, which was diagnosed among 39,3% of 6-years-old, 44,2% of 12-years-old and 40,2% of 15-years-old children were determined. Acute caries, which occurs straight after teeth eruption and mostly on interproximal surfaces causing frequent complications is observed more often. Local demineralization of enamel was found in significant number of children. Structural-functional resistance of enamel and mineral density of bone tissue are reduced in children with rampant caries. It's proven that rampant caries frequently occurs among children with gastric distress, acute respiratory and allergic diseases, as well as among children with abnormalities of physical development. Low content of calcium and phosphorus, decreased activity of alkaline phosphatase, low mineral potential of saliva and high concentration of Str. mutans are detected among children with rampant caries. Proven that presence of alelle "a" of polymorphic locus Apa1 of VDR gene appears to be a genetic factor which increases a risk of rampant caries development by 2,15 times.
