Kyryliuk S. Linguo-Cognitive Characteristics of the WEG / ROAD Concept in the German folktale

The dissertation is devoted to the complex research of the structure and the content of the WEG / ROAD concept in the conceptual system of the German folktale. The main theoretical ideas have been regarded and approaches to the interpretation of such basic notions as folktale, discourse, concept, frame, frame-scenario, slot have been systematized in the research. The research is based on the cognitive approach, which views language structures in the unity of people's general knowledge of the world, and on the linguo-cultural approach the main task of which is the interpretation of the people's mentality and culture via language. Integration and synthesis of cognitive and linguo-cultural approaches for the purpose of the research of the concepts lets in a thorough way reveal close relations between language, mentality and culture.
