Chernushka I. Current Status and Major Trends of Development of Adventism in Ukraine

This thesis deals with the current state and main trends of development of Adventism in Ukraine. The author analyzes the dynamics of institutionalization, missionary and social activities of Seventh-day Adventists in Ukraine. The on-going discussions of SDA Church existence in Ukraine and abroad concerning church-state relations, chaplain military service, gender policy and the prospects for missionary activity in Ukrainian society XXI century are researched. The study founds that church-state and gender activity of the ASD in Ukraine meets Protestantism paradigm of late modernism, while "integrated evangelism" which represents a missionary work indicates that the activities of Seventh-day Adventist Church in Ukraine should be referred to the recent "dialogic" paradigm of the postmodern era Protestantism.
