Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the complex research to ensure citizens' rights to environmental education in Ukraine. The paper defines the international, legal, environmental, philosophical and other prerequisites for the development of environmental education in Ukraine and the world. On the basis of theoretical and legal studies it analyzes the essence of the right of citizens to environmental education as a complex legal category, which includes the objective and subjective sides, as well as a set of corresponding relations. The author investigated the situation of ecological and legal doctrine on the legal aspects of environmental education, the rights of citizens to environmental education and welfare, national, international and European legal acts and other documents, which contain provisions on the legal aspects of environmental education, the rights of citizens to environmental education and and the constitutional right to education. The result of the study is aimed at the development of the theory of environmental law and legal theoretical knowledge about the basics of a mechanism to ensure citizens' rights to environmental education as an element of environmental rights in Ukraine, a complex scientific and legal analysis of the theoretical and practical problems of ensuring these rights as well as the formulation of science-based recommendations on improvement of legislation in the field of environmental education.
