Essay

The thesis is devoted to the urgent topic of the use of alternative and renewable energy sources. In particular, the topic concerns the effective use of solar air systems.The analysis was made to define a number of disadvantages of different types of solar air systems and their components and on the basis of this analysis the schematic diagram of an energy efficient air heating system and a new hybrid solar electric air heater were proposed. An absorber of an air heater is made of carbon fibers and that allows it to be heated simultaneously by two energy sources: solar radiation energy and electricity.On the basis of physical and mathematical modeling and experiments the complex studies were performed to determine the thermal and aerodynamic characteristics of an air heater, different factors affecting heat transfer from the absorber made of carbon fibers to air that passes over it and an absorption rate of the solar air heater absorber.Using conducted research it was developed the optimum design of a hybrid solar electric air heater which as a solar air collector has almost equal thermal characteristics to known models and has significant advantages in cost and construction parameters.
