The research focuses on revealing linguocognitive and gender peculiarities of verbal representation of the literary character's emotional state in Sh. Bronte's and E. Bronte's female novels. The types of nominative means of a literary character's emotional state representation in the emotionally-marked contexts have been defined in the thesis; the classification of these nominative means according to their structural and semantic features and the factor of addressing in the literary text has been elaborated. The conceptual sphere of a literary character's emotional state, the components of which - emotional concepts - reflect the author's worldview, has been constructed.Key words: emotional state, emotional concept, character, female novel, gender, representation.
