The thesis focuses on the linguistic and cognitive specificity of author's gender objectification in the modern English autobiography determined by a complex analysis on textual, verbal and conceptual levels. The versatility of the gender phenomenon on the textual level is revealed in the topical notional fragments of the text that differ in men's and women's autobiographies in their subject matter, the way of the theme disclosure and evaluation dominants. The linguistic expression of authors' gender identity has vividly demonstrated the autobiographies' differentiation on the lexical, grammatical and graphic levels. The conceptual space of the literary autobiographies is constructed from gender-specified textual concepts that create such conceptual domains as "Family", "Business", "Leisure" and "Society".
