Object - reference and clinical strains of Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms, isolated from patients with purulent and septic and wound infections; goal - comparative evaluation of antimicrobial and immunomodulatory properties of the extracted complexes of biologically active compounds derived from medicinal plants of the Carpathian region against clinical and laboratory strains of opportunistic pathogens; methods - microbiological, immunological, biological, mathematical variation statistics; results – etiological structure of causative agents of inflammatory infections isolated in hospitals and Ivano-Frankivsk region and indicators of their resistance to antimicrobial chemotherapy drugs (CTD) were examined; wide screening of medicinal plants among the Carpathian region extracts was conducted to find out the presence of antimicrobial activity against resistant to antimicrobial CTD clinical strains of microorganisms of different taxonomic affiliation; there were found anti-inflammatory (extracts from rhizomes of Polygonum bistorta L., inflorescence of Grindelia squarrosa (Pursh) Dun., thallus of Cetraria island-ica (L.) and IFN-?-, TNF-?-inducing (in most extracts from Viscum album L. and Symphytum officinale L.) activity of medicinal plant extracts; there was held microbiological substantiation of the perspective and expediency of the extract Polygonum bistorta L. usе as the basis of investigations of new antimicrobial agents; the method of producing an extract of rhizomes mountaineer snake was developed; branch – medicine.
