Essay

Overstoichiometric lithium-manganese spinels were obtained by LiMnO4·3H2O pyrolysis and their electrochemical properties were examined. Oxides LiMnxCo2-xOn, LiMnxCo1-xOn, Li1+xMn2-2xCo2xOn, LixNi1-xO, LiMnxNi2-xOn, LiMnxNi1-xOn and Li1+3xMn2-2xNi2xOn were obtained by formates pyrolysis. Electrochemical characteristics, phase composition, oxygen content and changes of main structure parameters of prepared oxides were investigated. It was determined that in Li - Mn - Co oxide system can form spinel (LiMnxCo2-xO4 and Li1+xMn2-2xCo2xO4), cation deficient layered Li(Mn,Co)O2 and Li2MnO3 phases. In Li - Mn - Ni oxide system can form spinel (LiMnxNi2-xO4) and layered (Li,Mn,Ni)2O2 solid solutions.
