The object of the research is the interaction process of milling knives made of constructural steels and reinforced high-speed friction with wood. The purpose is substantiating the application efficacy of knives The object of the research is the interaction process of milling knives with wood. The purpose is substantiating the application efficacy of knives made of constructural steels and reinforced high-speed friction for processing of wood. The methods of research. The following methods are used in the thesis: mathematical planning of experiment, methods of microhardness determination, methods of electrical quantities measurement, electron-optical method for measuring of linear dimensions, method of experimental data approximation. Scientific novelty. For the first time are proved and experimentally confirmed the feasibility of using knives made of constructural steels 45 and 65G and reinforced by high-speed friction for processing wood what is leading to improved durability on their operation compared with knives made of instrumental steels. For the first time are defined the dependence of physical and mechanical properties of the hardened layer of knives made of constructural steels on the rotation speed of the tooldrive, the strength of pressing and speed to the knife and speed of knife feeding in case of using lever system load and hinge fastening tooldrive during strengthening by high-speed friction. The determination of radius curvature of the blade cutting edge that accelerates the measurement process and improves accuracy were received further development. The first time are set the indexes of wear intensity of wood-cutting knive blades for a period of established work taking into account the physical and mechanical properties of the material they are made of and the type of wood are processed. The area of uses: woodprocessing industry.
