The dissertation develops research and methodology foundations of external economic activity risks management with due regard to enterprise features. This research paper gives definition of external economic activity risk. The author offers categorization of external economic risks based on the following characteristics: approach to contractual process; type of external economic activity and course of conducting international trade transactions. The dissertation refines methodological instrumentarium for defining and qualitative analysis of external economic activity risks as well as its implementation scheme. The study researches and visualizes the elements of external economic activity management system. The work proposes an approach to building up a portfolio of external economic activity risks as a procedure of external economic risk management subsystem. The research forms the selection system of exchange rate risk management tools at mechanical engineering enterprises.
