Essay

The thesis is devoted to research of geochemical characteristics of the mercury distribution and other trace elements in environmental objects (surface and bottom sediments, underground air, natural water, plants). New data of the mercury distribution of: natural (the zone of tectonic faults on the right bank of Kyiv), natural-technogenic (development of mercury deposits on Nikitovskiy ore field,) and technogenic (the territory of the former plant "Radical", Kyiv - technogenic accident; city Zhytomyr, city Vinnytsya - industrial plants and cities of Donetsk region) origin are obtained. Background and anomalous mercury and other trace elements, typical geochemical association of anomalous fields are revealed, geochemical ratios are calculated and levels of pollution are defined. It is discovered effective plant-indicators of mercury pollution of the environment.
