Essay

The dissertation is the first national philosophical tradition comparative study in phenomenological and analytical concepts of personal identity. Author considers the origins of the differences between the analytical and the phenomenological approach to identity, linked with Cartesian and Humian interpretation of I. Was made a detailed analysis of identity within each tradition, accompanied by comparing key attributes of existential, narrative, functional, impersonal, dualistic and a number of other views on this phenomenon. Advocated the idea according to which the achievement of a coherent historical-philosophical concept of identity requires an impartial synthesis of continental and Anglo-Saxon experience in the explication of identity. Armed with a similar aim, the study asks the question about the place of the theory of identity in many other philosophical subjects, particularly on the issue of body-mental dichotomy, grounding intersubjective experience and moral grounds for action. As a result, the problem of consciousness was summarized with both points of view - naturalistic and transcendental.
