Objects of the research - patients with gastrointestinal cancer, sexual dimorphism of the clinical course, oncogenesis and treatment of gastrointestinal cancer (gastral (GC), esophageal (EC) and gastroesophageal (GEC)); the purpose - to increase the quality of diagnostics and prognosis of the clinical course and the efficiency of treatment of gastrointestinal cancer (gastral (GC), esophageal (EC) and gastroesophageal (GEC)), both for men and women, including the patients with gastroesophageal hernia; methods - clinical, instrumental (fiberoptic esophagogastroscopy, ultrasonography, X-ray radiography, computer tomography, magnetic resonance tomography), biophysical, physic-chemical, biochemical, immunoenzime, statistical; the novelty and the results - sexual peculiarities of different symptoms of the clinical course of the gastrointestinal cancer and sexual dimorphism of patients' life prognosis were proved for the first time, the connection of the nature of the tumor process of men and women with the gastroesophageal hernia was revealed, the changes of blood angiorheological properties and the influence of tumor localization, tumor form, availability of metastases and accompanying diaphragmatic hernia on these properties were discovered, the sexual variations of survival rate of patients with GC, GEC and EC treated by different methods of surgical, therapeutic and radiotherapeutic treatment were discovered, the factors which contribute to early surgical complications were revealed, the most suitable approaches to treatment of men and women suffering from GC, GEC and EC were proposed, the criteria which allow to prognosticate the clinical course of pathologic process were marked off; the abovementioned was introduced in the practical activity of "Municipal Inter-district Oncologic Dispensary" (city of Mariupol), "City Oncologic Dispensary" (city of Kramatorsk), "Regional Clinical Oncologic Dispensary" (city of Kharkiv), "Clinical Oncologic Dispensary" (city of Dnipro), as well as in the teaching process of Donetsk National Medical University named after M. Gorkiy; sphere of application - diagnostic and treatment process of oncologic and surgery departments, scientific and pedagogic processes of oncologic and surgery chairs of medical educational institutions.
