This dissertation focuses on the complex study of the concept LANGUAGE actualization in modern English publicistic discourse. The thesis outlines theoretical approaches to the analysis of the concept realization. Methodology of linguo-cultural and linguo-statistical research of the concept actualization in discourse is defined. The conceptual structure of the concept LANGUAGE is under particular study: the notional component is determined with the help of definitional and component analyses of the meaning of the nominative lexeme of the concept; the axiological and image component is studied on the basis of conventional metaphors analysis.
