Denysova O. New method efficacy of optic neuropathy treatment at high complicated myopia

Object: optic neuropathy (ON) at high complicated myopia (HCM). Purpose: to increase the efficacy of ON treatment at high complicated myopia by applying scleroplasty in conjunction with ligation of the superficial temporal artery on the basis of stabilizing the morphometric parameters of the optic nerve disk , and hemodynamic improving of the eyes. Methods: Ophthalmic; statistics; Slit lamp; computer perimeter; Ultrasound A-and B-scanner; HRT II tomorgraph . Scientific data have been supplemented concerning changes in the morphometric parameters of disk of optic nerve and hemodynamic parameters in the ophthalmic artery in case of HCM with ON, depending on the axial length of the eye. Scientific data on the nature of the visual functions decrease at changing of morphometric and hemodynamic parameters in patient's eye in case o f HCM with ON . A new method of surgical treatment of ON at HCM was developed , consisted in carrying out scleroplasty in conjunction with ligation of the superficial temporal artery.
