Essay

The chronology of borrowings of Arabisms in the German language has been analyzed. It has been revealed the thematic diversity of Arabisms in the synchronic lexicon of the German language personality. It was established the adequate / inadequate interpretations of Arabisms by the German language personality. The use of Arab and German words in different communicative situations has been observed. The peculiarities of the use of Arabisms in the modern German-language literature and journalism had been analyzed.
