Essay

The analysis of exotic borrowings framed by the complex structural-functional scientific paradigm has allowed us to analyze the structural and typological characteristics of exotic borrowings and to reveal their textual and social functions. Exotic borrowings are markers of intercultural communication. They introduce new concepts that enrich the conceptual sphere of English linguaculture. Exotic borrowings in media texts create ethnic stereotypes, form the ideological orientation and enculturate the speakers of English as a target language.
