Essay

The thesis is the first comprehensive study on cuckoo wasps (the family Chrysididae) of Eastern Ukraine. The present-time species list is established, the keys for identification of the tribes, genera and species, are given. The morphological characteristics of all developmental stages of chrysidid wasps are discussed. The data on cocoons' structure, microsculpture of cuticle and host-parasite associations are obtained and supplemented. The flight periods and microhabitat distribution of the adults of cuckoo wasps of Eastern Ukraine are established. The economic importance of cuckoo wasps is discussed.
