Object: content and imaginative interaction of various arts in the philosophical prose of the Baroque period on the material philosophical works of J. Bunyan "Pilgrim's Progress…", "Christiana and her Children", "Spiritual War ...", "Narrow Gate ...", "Life and Death of Mr. Bedmen...", collection "Spiritual Songs", "Divine Emblems..."; and G. Skovoroda "Narkiss ...", "…Alfabet, or the World's ABC", "Conversation of Five Travellers...", "... Ashkhan", "Conversation 1 ...", "... Snake's Flood", "Ring...", "Dispute of Demon with Varsava" and others. Goal: comparison of philosophical prose J. Bunyan and G. Skovoroda in the context of current issues of intermediality. Methods of investigation: methods of literary hermeneutics, receptive aesthetics, cultural, anthropological, typological and comparative methods. Results, novelty: a comparative reading of the works of J. Bunyan and G. Skovoroda; identifying of common axis of religious and philosophical platform of writers, as well as their individual intensions and ways of artistic expression; intermedial base of baroque poetics; structuring methodological basis for interdisciplinary studies. Field of use: theoretical achievements on the theory of Synthesis of Arts in the field of comparative literature; high school courses from the World and Ukrainian literature of XVII-XVIII centuries.
