Mohamed A. New method efficacy in the treatment of patients with bacterial keratoconjunctivitis

The object of study: bacterial keratoconjunctivitis. Objective: To improve the efficacy of treatment of patients with bacterial keratoconjunctivitis through developing a method of correction for metabolic disorders in anterior eye sigment tissues by examining the effect of conjunctiva inflammation on the course of infection and inflammatory process in the cornea. Methods: ophthalmic methods; statistics; slit lamp; computer perimeter. We have enhanced the data on the fact that the level of normalization of biochemical parameters in the tear fluid of bacterial keratoconjunctivitis patients is higher when influenced by thiol group drugs, which indicates a reduction in corneal distructive processes and an increase in rates of neutralization of lipid peroxidation products. Clinically, a new correction method using acetylcysteine and vita iodurol has been proposed for disorders of glutathione system and structural and functional state of the corneal epithelium membrane in keratoconjunctivitis. The results of the work have been implemented in SE "Lugansk State Medical University" Kharkiv National Medical University, LLC "Luhansk regional center of eye diseases."
