Essay

This thesis is devoted to specifying social norms as an important factor influencing the effectiveness of managerial decision-making by education managers, and as defining development and manifestation of regulatory and normative values motivating managers in their professional occupation. It defines characteristic features of manifestation of social norms of education managers in the managerial activity, depending on their gender, age and their experience in managing different units in vertical orientation. It specifies factors influencing negative attitude of managers to social norms in respect to decision making organization. The article deals with the specifics of impact of social norms inherent in managers personalities on taking managerial decisions and their effectiveness. It outlines psychological characteristics of the effect of social norms on education managers of Slavic mentality within the cross-cultural research of the decision-making process. Based on the results of our empirical research there had been developed and tested a social-psychological training and there was made a set of recommendations aimed at optimizing the process of liberalization of regulatory and value systems defining managers' attitude to the process of decision making as to efficient and productive activities.
