Essay

The objects of study are materials of anode substrate and interconnect for ceramic fuel cells. The aim is to establish a relationship between the structural and phase state, physical and mechanical properties and fracture mechanisms of the ceramic and metal materials for ceramic fuel cells. Research methods are microstructural and X-ray analysis, conductivity measurements, high temperature strength, heat resistance, hydrogen resistivity. It has been shown that the use of reduction-oxidation cycle treatment (redox-cycling) for the proposed regime compared with single reduction improve the strength (in 1,2-2,6 times) and electrical conductivity (in 1,8-2,6 times) cermets YSZ-Ni and 10Sc1CeSZ-Ni. It has been investigated a new class of materials based on MAX-phases. It was shown that the temperature 600oC composite based MAX-phase Ti3AlC2 has a high resistance to oxidation and insensitive to the effects of hydrogen. The results of research were applied Ltd. "Zirconium of Ukraine" for the production of fuel cells with improved performance. Branches of application - alternative energy.
