The dissertation is devoted to summarizing theoretical, methodological, research and practical aspects of the competitiveness of dairy processing plants. It offers a methodical approach to assessing the competitiveness of enterprises of dairy industry in view of their potential and actual competitive advantages and specific local industry market space. It presents the analysis of a competitive situation of strategic groups of producers in the regional dairy market with the identification of their target consumer segments. A matrix for the assessment of competitive advantages of the products made by the companies that belong to the group of the "universal outsiders" of intra-industry segment of the dairy market of the Dnipropetrovsk region has been developed.
