The subject of this research is the electrochemical processes in the near-electrode layer and at the interphase boundaries in the formation of composite electrochemical coatings that contain nano-sized particles of Al2O3 in metal matrix. The purpose of research is development of the technology of composite electrochemical coatings based on copper and nickel with improved strength characteristics, modified by ultrafine particles. Research methods are linear voltammetry, X-ray photoelectron, scanning electron and atomic force microscopy, mechanical testing methods. Theoretical and practice results are the set mechanism of formation of composite coatings Cu-Al2O3 and Ni-Al2O3, developed technological scheme of the CEC application process. The novelty are proposed methodology for obtaining nanoparticles of Al2O3, found their influence on the patterns of the cathode forming the CEC process, determine the optimal electrolyte containing nano-sized particles of Al2O3, for the formation of coatings with improved physical and mechanical properties. The realization degree consists of laboratory-scale tests of electrolytes and electrolysis regimes in SE "Kharkov Aggregate Design Bureau" Kharkiv. The branch of the research application are electrical engineering industry, aviation and mechanical engineering, in research institutions and in the educational process.
