Essay

The object of study: the process of adhesion interaction of human erythrocytes and lactobacilli S.thermophilus. Aim of work: ascertaining the dependence of intercellular interaction of erythrocytes and lactobacilli S. thermophilus on the composition, physical and chemical characteristics of the medium and cell surface charge. Methods: light microscopy; spectrophotometry; theoretical calculations using Poisson-Boltzmann and Graham equations, Derjaguin's approximation. Scientific novelty: the influence of physical factors and medium composition on the stages of intercellular adhesion process was determined. Using a mathematical model the probability of adhesion between S.thermophilus and erythrocytes has been estimated. The best cryoconservation mode and parameters for evaluating the preservation of blood cells surface properties after thawing have been determined. Practical meaning: application in molecular and medical biophysics, pharmacology, molecular biology, bioengineering.
