Essay

It was found that Victorian biography was popular in totalitarian Western countries (Germany, Italy) and in the former Soviet Union. Fascist Germany literature borrowed English Victorian traditions and took control of the political demands of power. This resulted in the inability of literature to develop in any other direction. In the USSR, the situation was somewhat different. Soviet literature borrowed Victorian traditions, which were created and based on myths about Kremlin leaders as wise leaders and common people that care only about the future of Soviet citizens. It also has the peculiarity that with the destroying of the totalitarian regime in the USSR it didn't lose interest unlike German literature, but it is still the subject of exploring.
