The thesis deals with the detailed description of lexical-semantic specifics of German youth slang synonymy and ways of replenishment of slang synonyms. As the result of the conducted research of the actual material the functional specifics of slang synonyms has been identified: considering the dynamics of youth lexical structure development, separate lexical slang units can be used for a long time, become popular among youth and lose the relevance and become popular again.
