Essay

The thesis is devoted to the substantiation of silver, gold nanoparticles and their combinations experimental substances topical application in treatment and prevention of the mandible traumatic fractures inflammatory complications. According to the medical-statistical analysis of archival materials (Kyiv) for the past 10 years showed that increase of the lower jaw traumatic injuries frequency, among which 76 % are located within the tooth alignment and are initially infected with an increased risk of inflammatory complications agents which are MDR strains of Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis strains in 30 % and 27 % respectively. Studies in vitro demonstrated high antimicrobial activity of 30 nm silver nanoparticles against to the museum test strains and clinical isolates of microorganisms, which are actively accumulate nanoparticles within the cells, leading to the elimination of antibiotic resistance R-plasmid. In in vivo studies in abscess models and festering wounds of the lower jaw bone of Wistar rats was established the high therapeutic efficacy of the nanoparticles compared to commercial antiseptic drugs. In ex vivo studies were revealed the ability of gold nanoparticles and their combination with silver nanoparticles stimulate the structural-formal potential of stromal stem cells in human bone marrow. Based on the results were written recommendations for clinical trials with further investigations of nanoparticles in the oral and maxillofacial surgery.
