This dissertation develops theoretical principles and practical recommendations for the investigative organization and for operational techniques required to locate wanted persons, which are based on the analysis of criminal investigation practices. Aspects of the forensic science of locating subjects under pre-trial and court investigation are also determined. It furthermore suggests special features for using information technology services, special investigation activities, investigative tactics and covert investigative tactics to collect information and locate a person who is in hiding. Technologies to find subjects under pre-trial and court investigation are also proposed.
