In this thesis the structure of the lexico-semantic categories of antonymy, hyper-hyponymy and converseness has been modeled, using illustrative source material found in thirteen English-language monographs, textbooks and linguistic encyclopaedias which were published in the USA, the UK, Canada, or Germany. In these classes, as in most natural categories, it is possible to observe a non-uniform distribution of units; a gradual transition from the elements of the central zone to the elements of periphery; fuzzy boundaries; and overlapping or criss-crossing with other related categories.
