This dissertation identifies such concepts as "image", "literary image", "verbal-poetic image", defines the "verbal-poetic image of silence", which is based on the concept of Nature Silence, which is the element of communication. This work proposes the new pragmatic and communicative approach of understanding the Nature silence in English literary discourse. The main verbal units that can actualize the poetic image of silence are characterized by the permanent correlation with the different symbols of nature, show the dominant and peripheral characteristics, contain absolute or non-absolute silence and belong to silent vocabulary of nature symbols.
