The thesis is dedicated to a complex study of structural and semantic peculiarities of the cinematographic terminology on the material of French and Ukrainian. The work establishes the criteria a film term should meet. The paper discloses the origin of cinematographic terminology in French and Ukrainian and suggests its thematic classification. The structural peculiarities of film terms have been studied and the productive means of term formation in French and Ukrainian specified. The paradigmatic relations in the system of cinematographic terms have undergone a detailed analysis.
