Essay

Object of research -torsion vibrations of power transmissions of diesel engines. Research objective - development of nonlinear normal modes technique for analysis of power transmissions dynamics in diesel engines. Research methods and apparatus - modern nonlinear dynamics semi-analytical and numerical methods, Bubnov-Galerkin technique, Newton-Raphson technique, Runge-Kutta method of order 4. Theoretical and practical results -the developed method for analysis of torsion vibrations in power transmissions of diesel engines can be used when designing corresponding systems and for analysis of dynamic strength of transport vehicles' power transmissions. Novelty - new numerical and semi-analytical methods for analysis of free and forced torsion vibrations in power transmissions of internal combustion engines are developed. Degree of implementation - results are implemented in research process of Podgorny Institute for Mechanical Engineering Problems (Kharkiv) and in educational process of National technical university "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute". Scope of application - results of the work are used in mechanical engineering.
