Essay

It is shown that the first Christian apologists’ vision of the relationship between faith and reason deserves the name of nonconceptual. It is proved that the concept of the relationship between faith and reason in the Alexandrian school of Eastern patristic can be called rationalist. It is investigated that the vision of "Athens and Jerusalem" from Cappadocians to Palamas can be called the mystical concept of the relationship between faith and reason. The analysis suggests to classify the periods of solving the problem of "Athens and Jerusalem" in the eastern patristics as nonconceptual, rationalist and mystic.
