Based on a comprehensive research of precautions in criminal proceedings for juvenile suspects and accused the theoretical principles and practical recommendations of the using such measures of criminal proceedings have been developed. The work has been analyzed the process of emergence and development of the institute of preventive measures. Scientists' views on the concept of this type of measures of the criminal proceedings have been analyzed; as a result it has been presented the authorized version of the concept of "precaution".
