In the dissertation the properties of musical comedy as an integral genre phenomenon are determined and a typology of it are offered; the new aspect of the repertoire tradition's study of Odessa Academic Theatre of Musical Comedy named after M. Vodyanoy are opened from position of its attitude toward historical and modern genre-composition prototypes. The phenomenon of composite contamination, stylistic transitivity are investigated as the genre property of musical comedy; co-operation of an aesthetic categorizing and an conceptual maintenance of musical comedy opens up.
