Essay

The paper is dedicated to revealing Bulgarian phenomenon in music of the 20th and early 21st century. Thracian and antique roots of Bulgarian dance tradition have formed riches of new barbaric quality of irregular rhythms in vivace. Western European music has valued the rhythms in their renewing quality of European stereotype understanding at New Time as revitalizing historic memory about Eastern European sources of Christian culture and culture of the West. The genius of B. Bartok picked up that world tendency of musical professionalism while G.Ligeti promoted Bartok's discovery of the supra- national significance for Bulgarian folk music to the forestage of avant-garde revelations of the late 20th century.
