Essay

The thesis is devoted to discovering principles of Alfred Schnittke's composer thinking, based on his chamber instrumental music. The researcher attempts to systematize scientific observations on different principles of composer thinking, which leads to understanding these as connected by concepts of universalism and postmodern thinking. The author identifies such principles as dialogism, playing logic, "bipolarity", taxonomic effects, objection of composer's own "I", working by models. The term "composer thinking" is represented as an alternative to style, which helps to avoid some terminological contradictions arising between "style" and "polystylism", "style" and "post-modern thinking".
