Essay

The thesis is devoted to theoretical, methodological and applied questions of assessment of investment attractiveness of unconventional natural gas production in Ukraine. Global challenges and national prerequisites of shale revolution deployment are investigated. Generalization of geopolitical, economic, social and technological factors allowed to set that there are no objective factors for the development of projects of unconventional gas production in Ukraine. Ordering of regulatory framework helped to improve the organizational provisions of action between governments and foreign investors on the signing of a production sharing agreement and a special permit for the development of unconventional natural gas deposits. It was established the necessity of strengthening of environmental protection permits in order to neutralize the negative environmental effects caused by unconventional gas production. The prospects of the shale revolution deployment in certain countries with technically recoverable resources of shale gas were determined. Methodical approach for evaluating the investment attractiveness of unconventional natural gas production was improved, which allows to assess the economic feasibility of attracting investments on different depths and at different aggregate state by using the method of analogy. The directions of unconventional gas production intensification are developed, which provide using of horizontal-branched drilling and re-fracturing technologies in order to reduce production cost.
