Essay

Object of research: processes of conversion of solar energy into heat energy in absorbers of solar energy, combined photothermal modules and passive solar energy designs and heat transfer in the heat sinks with new composite materials. Objective: development and improvement of models and methods of analysis of processes of energy conversion of solar radiation into thermal energy taking into account characteristics due to heterogeneity of the structure and physical properties of composite materials for the active elements of solar collectors and photothermal modules. Methods of research: theories of heat transfer, heat conduction, analytical mathematical simulation and physical experiment. Theoretical and practical results, innovations: developed new technical solutions for designs of solar collectors, photo-thermal modules and passive solar elements which take into account peculiarities of energy conversion of solar radiation into heat energy when using composite sinks, the mathematical model of the distribution of electric potentials, current densities, temperatures, temperature gradients and heat flow in composite materials that allows to calculate the main thermophysical characteristics of composite heat sinks of solar power modules; based on the synergistic theory regarding the processes of formation of spatially inhomogeneous structures due to development of instabilities obtained conditions for the development of self-oscillatory regimes of thermal and electrothermal processes which determine the quality of composite heat sinks. Subject and degree of implementation: obtained results were used for performing of scientific-research works in the Institute of renewable energy of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, at the State Agency on energy efficiency and energy saving of Ukraine and in the educational process at the National technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute". Scope of use: scientists and organizations that take part in development of solar energy.
