Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the development of measures and means to protect of employees from the exposure to electromagnetic fields of ultra-high and higher frequencies. Actual energy flux densities in various types of industrial facilities and regularities of the electromagnetic screens protective properties have been investigated. The optimal degree of shielding the working environment from external electromagnetic radiation has been found. Methodological principles of development and application of electromagnetic screens with regularly arranged openings of various diameter and depth in the form of waveguides have been found. The empirical correlation of surfaces shielding index calculation depending on cutoff frequency has been adjusted. Conditions for minimizing the reflective properties of electromagnetic screens, made of finely dispersed metal, have been experimentally determined and substantiated based on the electrical properties of metallopolymer materials. The results allowed developing algorithm for the implementation of methods and means of employees' protection from the exposure to electromagnetic fields of ultra-high and higher frequencies to enhance labor protection efficiency at enterprises in various fields. Proposals for improving national regulations on electromagnetic safety have been developed. The main of them is the elimination of differences between the regulating documents, harmonization of the existing standards on electromagnetic safety requirements in Ukraine with European standards of technical means electromagnetic compatibility. The adaptation of the maximum permissible levels of ultra-high and higher frequencies electromagnetic radiation to the requirements of international standard, which is an integral part of the European Directive for Electromagnetic Safety, is necessary.
