The thesis is focused on the research of the peculiarities of legal regulation of the genesis of labor legal relations with police officers. It has been proved that the police service is a specific kind of work that is associated with the implementation of mostly law enforcement function of the state. The features of the employment legal relations with police officers have been found out. The author's definition of the categories of "a police officer", "police position", "police commission's decision by the results of the contest", "contract on service within the police force".
